Partners for Hope
Partners for Hope is the new five-year Norcross Cooperative Ministry plan to significantly increase our capacity to provide food, clothing, shelter and assistance to those in need in Norcross, Peachtree Corners and Duluth. This bold initiative can only be achieved through the support of the faith-based community, the business community, local governments and folks like you who care about those in need in southwest Gwinnett County.
The Norcross Cooperative Ministry was founded in 1988 by the Norcross First United Methodist Church and Christ Church Episcopal in space provided by the First Baptist Church of Norcross. Although the Norcross Cooperative Ministry is a faith-based organization, it provides assistance to all who are in need. Initially, the Norcross Cooperative Ministry provided food and other modest support to fewer than 1000 people annually. Through the years, 23 churches of many different denominations joined the Norcross Cooperative Ministry with a member of each church serving on the Co-op’s Board of Directors. Through the support of these church, business and community leaders and a host of volunteers, NCM served over 30,000 people in 2016, providing food, shelter, clothing and other assistance, totaling $1,749,635 in value.
Partners for Hope will build on the success of the Restoring Hope! program as we continue to meet the urgent physical needs of those less fortunate in our community, while also providing hope for those who earnestly want to transform their lives and become self-sustaining citizens again.
If Partners for Hope is to become a true community-wide initiative, it is essential that our families, churches and corporate leaders join together at the Co-op. If you share our vision for personal transformation, please join me and other leaders in pledging your support to this important program and together becoming Partners for Hope.
